This is a critical role for a candidate who thrives on managing complex contract obligations, mitigating project risks, and ensuring the smooth commercial execution of large-scale precast manufacturing and export ventures.
As the Assistant Contracts Manager, you will serve as a key liaison between our operational teams, clients, and subcontractors. You will be responsible for overseeing project documentation, managing claims and variations, and ensuring all contractual milestones are met in accordance with international export standards. Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of construction contracts, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and legal obligations.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate sub-contract documents and purchase orders for precast materials.
- Manage the claims process, including the preparation of progress claims, variations, and final accounts for export projects.
- Coordinate closely with internal production and logistics teams to ensure export documentation meets international trade requirements.
- Monitor and report on project costs, commercial risks, and contractual delays to senior management.
- Liaise with external consultants, architects, and stakeholders to resolve contractual disputes and technical discrepancies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of site instructions, correspondence, and project progress reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically dealing with precast concrete elements.
- Proven track record in managing export or international trade projects is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g., PAM, FIDIC) and local construction laws.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills in English and Malay.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.
