Oriental Merchant is currently seeking an experienced Assistant HR Manager to lead our Compensation & Benefits (C&B) initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping our total rewards strategy, ensuring our packages remain competitive in the market while aligning with organizational objectives.

You will work closely with leadership to design incentive programs, manage payroll operations, and ensure full compliance with Singapore's statutory requirements. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain competitive Compensation & Benefits strategies that align with business goals.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and market research to ensure our salary structures and benefits programs remain market-competitive.
  • Manage the end-to-end annual performance review and salary increment/bonus adjustment processes.
  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll administration, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements (CPF, IRAS, MOM).
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including insurance schemes, leave policies, and wellness initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed C&B reports, budget forecasts, and HR analytics for management review.
  • Collaborate with department heads to resolve compensation-related inquiries and provide guidance on total rewards packages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of specialized experience in Compensation & Benefits or total rewards management.
  • Strong analytical mindset with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data modeling).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Singapore Employment Act and statutory regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefit structures to employees at all levels.
  • Prior experience in HRIS implementation or payroll system management is highly advantageous.
  • Proactive team player with a high level of integrity and ability to handle confidential data.
