Synapxe is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Lead Engineer to join our Central Infrastructure Services team. In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of our firewall ecosystem, ensuring robust perimeter security while driving operational excellence through automation.
You will take ownership of the AlgoSec platform, leveraging it to streamline firewall rule lifecycle management. Your expertise will bridge the gap between complex network security requirements and seamless end-to-end service delivery. Responsibilities
- Lead the administration, optimization, and maintenance of enterprise-grade firewall infrastructure.
- Oversee the AlgoSec security policy management platform to automate firewall rule workflows.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex firewall connectivity and security policy issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to define and implement robust network security architectures.
- Execute firewall policy audits and ensure compliance with internal security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce manual overhead in firewall rule lifecycle management.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff within the infrastructure team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in network security and firewall management (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco preferred).
- Proven expertise in managing automated firewall rule management tools like AlgoSec or Tufin.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, or Bash) to streamline security operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex network security incidents under pressure.
- Relevant professional certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP Security, or CISSP are highly advantageous.
