Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of collection officers to achieve monthly recovery targets.
  • Design and implement data‑driven collection strategies aligned with the department’s target‑driven model.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Ensure all collection activities comply with Malaysian banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with legal and risk teams to manage difficult accounts and negotiate settlements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce delinquency rates.
  • Conduct training sessions and coaching to develop team capabilities in negotiation and customer handling.
  • Prepare forecasting models and contribute to budget planning for the collection function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in debt collection, credit management, or financial services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding collection targets in a target‑driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian banking regulations, including BNM guidelines on debt recovery.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building rapport with customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including performance coaching and team motivation.
