Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for mining production operations.
- Analyze operational performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variances and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support mine planning, capital expenditure evaluation, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly management reports, financial dashboards, and ad-hoc analysis for senior leadership, providing clear recommendations.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure specific to production cycles and inventory management.
- Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and maintenance teams to track production costs, material yields, and overheads, identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Ensure strict compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal control policies relevant to the mining sector.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Mentor and develop junior finance team members, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CIMA are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Management Reporting, or Cost Accounting, ideally within mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, advanced Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial data clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders, including operational managers.
- Experience with project accounting, cost control, and variance analysis in a production environment.
- Sound knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, SST, and statutory requirements.
- Must be willing to work full-time onsite at our Sintok, Kedah location.
