Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily underwriting support activities to ensure timely and accurate policy issuance.
  • Manage complex underwriting queries and provide guidance to administrative support teams.
  • Monitor and improve operational workflows to increase productivity and reduce turnaround times.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Sales, Actuarial, and Claims to resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Prepare regular management reports and perform data analysis to identify trends in underwriting performance.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and audit trails for all underwriting activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in life or general insurance underwriting/operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance regulatory standards in Singapore.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex policy documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with core insurance administration systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CMI, FLMI) is a strong advantage.
