Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all plant operations, including production scheduling, quality control, and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to meet production targets, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise shift supervisors, team leaders, and production staff to ensure high performance and accountability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular reports for senior management on production, safety, and compliance.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulatory standards, conducting regular audits and training to maintain a zero-accident workplace.
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels, supply chain flow, and material handling.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to align with corporate financial goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in plant operations, with 2+ years in a supervisory or assistant management role within manufacturing, transport, or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, quality management systems, and health & safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.
