Join Al-Ikhsan Sports Sdn Bhd as an Assistant Sales Manager at our Setapak Central store in Kuala Lumpur. This pivotal role blends leadership, customer focus, and sales excellence to drive revenue and create memorable shopping experiences for our customers.
As the Assistant Sales Manager you will support the Sales Manager in daily operations, lead a team of sales associates, and ensure the store consistently meets its targets. You will combine a passion for sports with professional retail expertise to coach staff, develop product knowledge, and maintain high standards of service.
You will oversee merchandising, store presentation, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities. In addition, you will monitor promotions, coordinate with suppliers for launches, and implement loss-prevention practices. By analyzing sales data and customer feedback, you will contribute insights to optimize floor coverage, staffing, and promotional plans.

Responsibilities
- Support the Sales Manager to drive store performance and achieve sales targets.
- Lead, coach, and schedule a team of sales associates to deliver excellent customer service.
- Deepen product knowledge across footwear, apparel, and sports equipment to advise customers effectively.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure attractive, compliant store displays.
- Control inventory, replenish stock, and support stock takes to minimize shrinkage.
- Analyze weekly sales data, prepare reports, and communicate insights to improve performance.
- Coordinate promotions and events with suppliers, ensuring proper execution and post-event follow-up.
- Uphold cash handling procedures and loss prevention measures in line with company policy.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in business, marketing, retail, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on retail or sportswear sales experience, with leadership exposure.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to meet targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Malay; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong customer service mindset with a passion for sports and athletic products.
- Proficiency with POS systems, basic MS Excel, and retail operations software.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Detail-oriented, results-driven, and capable of handling multiple tasks with composure.
