Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal counsel and advice to the Provincial Governor, Vice Governor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and department heads.
  • Draft, review, and approve legal documents including contracts, memoranda, resolutions, ordinances, and deeds.
  • Represent the government in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and litigation matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to interpret laws, rules, and regulations relevant to local government operations.
  • Review and analyze proposed legislation and administrative orders for legal validity and compliance.
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of legal policies and programs of the province.
  • Provide legal opinions on matters concerning land ownership, taxation, and administrative law.

Qualifications

  • Must be a member in good standing of the Philippine Bar.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant legal experience, preferably in government or public administration.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Civil Service rules and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal drafting and interpretation of laws.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and negotiate complex legal issues.
  • Must pass the appropriate Civil Service Commission (CSC) eligibility requirements for Attorney II.
