Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice to city officials on municipal governance, administrative procedures, and regulatory compliance
- Represent the city in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and arbitration cases
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, ordinances, and legal instruments
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on Philippine jurisprudence and local government codes
- Develop policies and protocols to mitigate legal risks for city operations
- Supervise junior attorneys and paralegals in case management and litigation preparation
- Collaborate with inter-agency bodies on regional legal initiatives
Qualifications
- Admission to the Philippine Bar with active license to practice
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience in public sector law
- Expertise in municipal law, administrative law, and contract management
- Proven track record in drafting legal instruments for government entities
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities
- Master's degree in Law (LLM) or relevant specialization preferred
- Knowledge of Ilocos Region legal framework advantageous
