Responsibilities
- Assist patients and their families in understanding their healthcare benefits, insurance coverage, and financial responsibilities.
- Verify patient eligibility for various government and private health insurance programs.
- Process and facilitate insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Provide financial counseling to patients regarding treatment costs, payment options, and available assistance programs.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient interactions, benefit inquiries, and claims status.
- Liaise with insurance providers, government agencies, and hospital departments to resolve benefit-related issues.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare policies, insurance regulations, and benefit programs.
- Educate patients on necessary paperwork and procedures for accessing their benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience (1-2 years) in a benefits administration, patient services, or financial counseling role, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of healthcare insurance plans, PhilHealth, HMOs, and other government benefit programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and empathetically.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and claims processing.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
