Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fleet management strategies to maximize vessel utilization and profitability.
  • Oversee scheduled maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections for all river cruise vessels.
  • Ensure compliance with local maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Coordinate crew scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain high service levels.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, operating costs, and budget adherence; identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Liaise with port authorities, tourism agencies, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Analyze performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Lead emergency response planning and ensure crew readiness for contingencies.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in fleet management, vessel operations, or marine supervision.
  • Valid Marine Engineer or Master’s license (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian maritime regulations and safety protocols (e.g., MARPOL, SOLAS).
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with fleet management software and navigational systems (e.g., GPS, AIS).
  • Willingness to work on‑site in Kota Belud and travel as needed for vessel inspections.
