Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement secure and scalable API solutions utilizing CA Layer7 API Gateway and Apigee Edge platforms.
- Configure, manage, and optimize API policies, security rules, and performance within Layer7 and Apigee environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to API policy configuration, gateway functionality, and integration points.
- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to define API requirements, design specifications, and ensure adherence to API best practices and standards.
- Execute API porting, migration, and versioning strategies to ensure compatibility and smooth transitions across different platforms and environments.
- Monitor API performance, availability, and usage metrics, implementing proactive measures to ensure optimal service delivery and system health.
- Implement and enforce robust API security protocols, including authentication, authorization, threat protection, and data encryption mechanisms.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for API designs, configurations, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven professional experience (3+ years) with CA Layer7 API Gateway, including extensive experience in policy development, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apigee Edge platform, encompassing API proxy development, management, and analytics.
- Solid understanding of API security principles and best practices, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API key management, and data encryption.
- Experience in troubleshooting gateway-level issues, analyzing log files, and optimizing API performance and latency.
- Proficiency in the full API development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
- Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP), data formats (JSON, XML), and related integration technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
