ST Engineering, a global technology, defence, and engineering leader, is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect (Infrastructure) to join our dynamic team in Jurong East, Singapore. This is a crucial role driving our enterprise cloud strategy, focusing on building robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions. What You Will Do
In this role, you will define technical roadmaps, conduct architectural reviews, and champion best practices in cloud governance and security. You will lead the evaluation and adoption of new cloud services, optimise existing workloads for performance and cost, and mentor engineering teams in cloud-native development and DevOps culture.
Your Expertise
We are looking for a strategic thinker with deep, hands-on technical experience. You possess expert knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, combined with a strong background in traditional on-premises infrastructure. You are a passionate advocate for Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible), containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker), and modern CI/CD pipelines. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect highly scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms.
- Develop and maintain the enterprise cloud roadmap, driving adoption of cloud-native services and modernisation of legacy systems.
- Champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation to ensure consistent and automated deployments.
- Define and enforce cloud governance, security policies, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Lead cloud cost optimisation (FinOps) initiatives, implementing monitoring and controls to maximise return on investment.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps, SRE, and Engineering teams on cloud best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the infrastructure domain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a dedicated Cloud Architect or Lead Cloud Engineer role.
- Expert-level cloud certification is highly preferred (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
- Deep hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute).
- Proven expertise in containerisation and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex architectural decisions to senior stakeholders.
- Experience with security frameworks and tools (IAM, SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Encryption).
