In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring that our IT infrastructure data is accurate, reliable, and optimized for decision-making.
As a CMDB Analyst, you will be responsible for the end-to-end governance of Configuration Items (CIs). You will bridge the gap between technical operations and business strategy by implementing robust service mapping and data quality frameworks. Responsibilities
- Oversee the lifecycle management and governance of Configuration Items (CIs) within the CMDB.
- Perform regular data audits and cleanup activities to maintain high levels of data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive service mapping to ensure alignment between business services and underlying infrastructure.
- Collaborate with IT teams to identify process gaps and implement configuration governance best practices.
- Generate and present regular reports on CMDB health, data quality, and compliance metrics to stakeholders.
- Support the ITSM process improvement initiatives by providing actionable insights derived from CMDB data.
- Assist in the design and execution of discovery tool configurations to ensure automated CI population.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), specifically in CMDB/Configuration Management.
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, particularly Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM).
- Proficiency in using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or BMC Helix.
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and perform complex data reconciliation tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical requirements and business outcomes.
- ITIL Foundation certification is highly preferred.
