Responsibilities
- Perform precision measurements and dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure product compliance.
- Document inspection results accurately within quality management systems and prepare non-conformance reports (NCR) when necessary.
- Collaborate with production and engineering departments to troubleshoot quality issues and identify root causes.
- Conduct first-article inspections (FAI) and in-process quality audits to maintain production standards.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and rework rates.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a CMM inspection role within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Experience using standard measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Excellent analytical skills with a sharp eye for detail and high precision.
- Ability to work independently as well as contribute effectively to a team-oriented environment.
