About the Role

Key Responsibilities
You will handle a diverse range of duties that form the core of our conveyancing practice. This includes managing sales and purchase agreements, preparing and reviewing loan documentation, and conducting title searches and due diligence. You will liaise with developers, bankers, and government agencies to facilitate smooth transactions. Your role will also involve attending to stamping, registration, and land office inquiries. Senior candidates will be expected to mentor junior team members and supervise complex files to ensure strict compliance with legal standards.

Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate is someone who is meticulous, possesses strong negotiation skills, and has a deep understanding of Malaysian property law, including the National Land Code, Housing Development Act, and Strata Management Act. A valid Practicing Certificate and immediate availability are highly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Manage a full portfolio of conveyancing files from inception to post-completion, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and legal requirements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs) and related documentation for both residential and commercial properties.
- Handle loan documentation, including reviewing facility letters, preparing charge documents, and coordinating disbursement processes with financial institutions.
- Conduct thorough legal due diligence, including title searches, bankruptcy searches, and company searches.
- Liaise with clients, developers, bankers, and government authorities (Land Office, Valuation Office) to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
- Attend to the stamping of documents and registration of titles and charges with the relevant land offices.
- Provide legal advice to clients on property matters, including issues related to the National Land Code, Housing Development Act, and Strata Management Act.
- Mentor and supervise junior legal associates and support staff (applicable for Senior roles).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent recognized by the Malaysian Bar.
- Completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC).
- Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with a valid Practicing Certificate.
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in conveyancing for Junior role; 5+ years for Senior role.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Land Code, Housing Development Act, and Strata Management Act.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
- Proficiency in legal documentation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Immediate availability or short notice period is highly preferred.
