Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare healthy, high-quality meals for the crew while managing food inventory, budgeting, and waste reduction.
- Ensure the galley and food storage areas meet strict sanitation and hygiene standards at all times.
- Perform general deck maintenance duties as an Able Seaman (OS), including painting, cleaning, and equipment upkeep.
- Assist in cargo operations, mooring, and unmooring procedures safely and efficiently.
- Maintain watchkeeping duties as required by the Master or Officer on Duty.
- Handle emergency response duties and participate in regular safety drills.
- Perform regular inspections of deck machinery and safety equipment.
Qualifications
- Must hold valid STCW certification and relevant maritime documents as per DMW requirements.
- Proven experience as a Cook/OS or in a combined role on General Cargo vessels.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety management systems (SMS).
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety protocols.
- Excellent physical condition and ability to handle strenuous deck operations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural crew environment.
- Valid Seaman’s Book and Passport with sufficient remaining validity.
