Job Description
New City Builders, Inc. is seeking a results-driven Cost Estimator to join our growing construction team in Quezon City. This role focuses on delivering accurate cost projections that help us win bids and manage project budgets efficiently.
In this role, you will interpret drawings and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare detailed cost estimates, and develop comprehensive bills of quantities (BOQ) for tender packages. You will analyze subcontractor quotes, price proposals, and escalation factors, and you will continuously update cost databases to reflect market conditions.
Key responsibilities include supporting the bidding process, coordinating with design and engineering teams, and collaborating with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective material sourcing. You will assess risks, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present clear, defendable estimates to project leadership.
To succeed, you should have strong analytical skills, proficiency in estimation software and Excel, and the ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Knowledge of local suppliers and market conditions in Metro Manila is highly valued.

Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and material, labor, and equipment pricing with accuracy.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage contingency allowances.
- Assist in the bidding process by developing tender packages, risk assessments, and value engineering options.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and procurement to ensure alignment between design intent and cost constraints.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical data to improve estimation accuracy over time.
- Monitor changes during design development and construction, updating estimates and BOQs accordingly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a cost estimator or similar role in construction or contracting.
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, BOQ preparation, and bid preparation processes.
- Proficiency in estimation software and MS Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or Primavera P6 is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present cost data clearly to stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, organization, and ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
