As a Data Engineer Consultant at CMC Global, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing our data infrastructure. You'll work on cutting-edge projects, leveraging the latest big data technologies and cloud platforms to deliver impactful solutions. This role demands a proactive individual with at least 4 years of dedicated experience in data engineering, capable of not only executing complex technical tasks but also providing strategic guidance and consulting expertise to drive data initiatives forward. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust ETL/ELT data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and practices.
- Develop and optimize data warehousing solutions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and data quality.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement and manage data solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, leveraging services like S3, Redshift, Glue, Data Factory, BigQuery, etc.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met across all data platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and consulting expertise on data architecture, data modeling, and data integration strategies.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipelines and data infrastructure.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies to improve our data engineering capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
- Extensive experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their respective data services.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling), and database design.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimize complex data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and data accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
