Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and maintain production and development database environments to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
- Perform regular database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schema designs for improved application performance.
- Implement and enforce robust database security protocols, including access control and encryption standards.
- Monitor database health using industry-standard tools and resolve performance bottlenecks proactively.
- Coordinate with development and DevOps teams to streamline deployment pipelines and database migrations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architectures, configurations, and maintenance logs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).
- Proficiency in managing relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server.
- Strong experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL).
- Proven track record in database tuning, troubleshooting, and index management.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python or Bash).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OCP, MCSE, or AWS Certified Database) are a strong plus.
