Mindteck is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Infra Operation & Cyber Security team in Kuala Lumpur. In this contract role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and dayâtoâday administration of missionâcritical MSSQL, MySQL, and Oracle databases that power our clientsâ business applications.
You will collaborate closely with the IT Server Ops Team Lead and crossâfunctional teams to ensure optimal database performance, high availability, and robust security controls. Your expertise will drive automation, tuning, and continuous improvement initiatives across our database landscape.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Manage and perform administrative tasks across MSSQL, MySQL, and Oracle platforms.
- Monitor database health, performance, and capacity; troubleshoot bottlenecks and optimize queries.
- Implement and validate backup, recovery, and disasterârecovery solutions.
- Configure and maintain highâavailability clusters, replication, and failover mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Bash, TâSQL, PL/SQL) for automation and monitoring.
- Apply security patches, hardening, and complianceârelated database settings.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a DBA with handsâon expertise in MSSQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disasterârecovery solutions and tools.
- Familiarity with highâavailability technologies such as clustering, mirroring, and replication.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, TâSQL, PL/SQL) for automation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, OCP, MySQL Certified) are advantageous.
- Excellent problemâsolving, communication, and teamwork skills.
