Private Advertiser is seeking a motivated Design Engineer (Estimator) with 2 years of experience to join our dynamic team in Del Monte, Metro Manila. In this role, you will bridge the gap between creative design and practical budgeting, transforming architectural concepts into accurate cost estimates and technical proposals that drive project success. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure designs are not only innovative but also financially viable.
Your day-to-day activities will include preparing detailed quantity take-offs, analyzing material and labor costs, and developing competitive bid packages that meet client specifications and company standards. You will also be responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities, and providing timely updates to project managers throughout the estimation lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and quantity take-offs for architectural and engineering designs.
- Analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop competitive bid proposals.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Collaborate with design, procurement, and construction teams to validate assumptions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, and historical data for reference and benchmarking.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, presentations, and postâbid debriefs.
- Monitor market trends and supplier pricing to keep estimates current and realistic.
- Support project managers with cost tracking and value engineering during project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost estimating, quantity surveying, or design engineering within the construction industry.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Candy, PriMus, Buildsoft) and MS Excel.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD/BIM tools for reading and interpreting drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and local building codes.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problemâsolving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for crossâfunctional collaboration.
