Chubb Insurance is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented DM Dread Disease Underwriter to join our prestigious Accident & Health division in Singapore. Responsibilities
- Evaluate and process complex Dread Disease and Critical Illness applications in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and authority limits.
- Collaborate with the distribution and sales teams to provide timely and accurate underwriting decisions while maintaining superior service levels.
- Conduct thorough medical risk assessments by analyzing detailed health reports, laboratory results, and attending physician statements.
- Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, identifying trends in risk and proposing underwriting adjustments to ensure profitability.
- Work closely with the Product Development team to contribute insights for new product launches and enhancements to existing critical illness portfolios.
- Participate in regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance policies.
- Maintain a high standard of professional technical knowledge by staying updated on medical advancements and insurance market shifts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Finance, Nursing, or a related healthcare/analytical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting experience, specifically within the Accident & Health or Life Insurance space, with a focus on Critical Illness products.
- Proficiency in medical risk selection and understanding of life/health insurance actuarial principles.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound, evidence-based risk decisions.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical underwriting concepts to internal stakeholders and distribution partners.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage a high volume of cases with strict attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CMI, FLMI, or equivalent) will be considered a distinct advantage.
