Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit compliance correspondences and regulatory reports to relevant energy authorities (e.g., DOE, ERC, WESM).
- Monitor and analyze electricity spot market prices, load forecasts, and supply-demand dynamics to identify trading opportunities.
- Execute short-term and long-term energy trades in accordance with company risk policies and trading strategies.
- Develop and maintain detailed market reports, including price trend analysis, competitor benchmarking, and portfolio performance.
- Coordinate with internal teams (finance, operations, legal) to ensure seamless trade settlement and compliance.
- Assist in the development and optimization of trading models and tools for better decision-making.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to trading profitability and risk exposure.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and market developments to proactively adjust trading strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in energy trading, power markets, or a related role (fresh graduates with strong internships may be considered).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of Philippine electricity market regulations (WESM, ERC rules) and trading frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and correspondences.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Preferably with experience in energy compliance, risk management, or financial trading.
