Talent Recruit is actively seeking a proactive and detail oriented Freight Forwarding Executive to join our logistics team in Shah Alam, Selangor. In this role, you will manage end to end import and export operations, ensuring accurate customs clearance and timely release of shipments by preparing and coordinating essential shipping documents.
You will liaise with customs authorities, freight carriers, and service providers to resolve issues, expedite releases, and maintain compliant records across all shipments. This position requires a practical understanding of trade regulations, Incoterms, HS codes, and tariff classifications.
Key responsibilities include coordinating air, sea, and land freight, preparing commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and other shipping documents; tracking shipment status; optimizing routing to balance speed and cost; and communicating with customers to provide proactive updates and resolve queries.
To succeed in this role, you should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under deadlines. Proficiency with ERP or shipping software and MS Excel will help you manage data, generate reports, and support accurate invoicing. Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import/export shipments and prepare essential documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and other shipping papers).
- Coordinate with customs brokers and authorities to secure timely clearance and resolve any holds or delays.
- Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and service providers to book space, track shipments, and optimize routing and costs.
- Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations, Incoterms, HS codes, licenses, permits, and regulatory declarations.
- Maintain accurate shipment records in ERP/shipping software, monitor KPIs, and generate reports for management.
- Provide proactive customer communication on shipment status, exceptions, and delivery timelines.
- Assist with tariff classification, duties/taxes estimation, and invoicing accuracy to support cost control.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in freight forwarding.
- Solid knowledge of customs clearance processes and freight documentation, including incoterms and HS codes.
- Proficiency in ERP or transportation management systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem solving abilities; detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; customer focused and collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced logistics environment; ability to work in Shah Alam or nearby areas.
