Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Genset Manager to oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimal performance of a nationwide generator fleet. In this pivotal role, you will lead a skilled chargeman team, coordinate scheduling, and ensure rapid emergency response to keep operations running smoothly across Malaysia. You will be responsible for developing preventive maintenance programmes, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee nationwide deployment, installation, and commissioning of generator sets.
  • Schedule and supervise chargeman team for routine maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
  • Develop and enforce preventive maintenance programmes to maximize uptime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for parts procurement and specialized repairs.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, operating hours, and performance metrics; prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation for the genset fleet.
  • Lead incident response, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in power generation, genset maintenance, or fleet management.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gas generator systems, control panels, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
