Join PERSOL, a global leader in staffing and workforce solutions, as a Global Category Manager in Penang. In this pivotal role, you will lead the category strategy for PCBs and related components within the semiconductor supply chain, spanning global suppliers and manufacturing sites. You will partner with sourcing, engineering, and operations teams to drive cost savings, supplier resilience, and continuous improvement across regions. The ideal candidate has deep experience in semiconductor or PCB manufacturing, with a proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional leadership. This role offers exposure to global procurement, complex negotiations, and data-driven decision making in a dynamic, high-tech environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global category strategies for PCBs, PCBA components, and related materials within the PCB manufacturing supply chain.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management with international suppliers to achieve cost reduction and performance targets.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure supply continuity, risk management, and supplier quality improvements.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), lead times, and inventory levels.
- Monitor supplier performance via KPIs; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement programs.
- Manage stakeholder relationships at executive levels across regions and business units.
- Provide market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and risk assessment to support strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in category management or strategic procurement within PCB or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
- Experience with global supply chain, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and data analytics.
- Proven project management and cross-functional leadership abilities.
- Fluency in English; Malay language skills are beneficial.
- Willingness to travel as needed (0-20%).
