Responsibilities
- Pursue a recognised undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Health Science (Medical Social Work) with full‑time study commitment.
- Complete clinical placements and internships at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as scheduled by the academic programme.
- Participate in supervised casework, assessments, and counselling sessions with patients and families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to address psychosocial needs of patients.
- Engage in research projects or quality improvement initiatives related to medical social work.
- Attend mandatory training, workshops, and professional development sessions organised by TTSH.
- Maintain academic performance and uphold professional standards as per TTSH policies.
- Undertake a service commitment with TTSH upon graduation, as agreed in the sponsorship bond.
Qualifications
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Strong academic record in relevant pre‑university or diploma studies (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Nursing).
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare social work – previous volunteer or work experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise with diverse populations.
- Resilience, emotional maturity, and a team‑oriented mindset.
- Ability to commit to full‑time study and the subsequent bond period (typically 3‑4 years).
