Are you a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic looking to showcase your expertise in a challenging mining environment? We are currently seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Technician to join our mining operations team in Sintok, Kedah. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the operational integrity of our heavy machinery, ensuring that production targets are met through proactive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting.

As part of our technical team, you will work on a diverse range of heavy mining equipment, identifying mechanical issues, performing precision repairs, and ensuring strict adherence to site safety protocols. We are looking for someone with a strong background in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting who thrives in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on heavy mining machinery and earthmoving equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
  • Perform major component overhauls, including engines, transmissions, and final drives.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment service records in compliance with site safety standards.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize operational downtime.
  • Adhere strictly to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and environmental regulations at all times.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior mechanics or on-site support staff when required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in heavy equipment maintenance (mining, construction, or forestry sectors).
  • Relevant vocational certification or diploma in Automotive Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, power trains, and hydraulic control systems.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently in remote or rugged environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform heavy lifting and field-based labor.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
