Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize plant growth and health within high-tech cultivation systems (e.g., hydroponic, aeroponic, vertical farms).
- Implement and manage environmental control parameters, including light, temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels, to ensure optimal crop development.
- Conduct regular plant inspections to identify and diagnose pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies, developing and applying appropriate intervention strategies.
- Assist in the research and development of new crop varieties, cultivation techniques, and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret horticultural data to identify trends, improve yields, and enhance crop quality.
- Operate and troubleshoot sophisticated horticultural equipment and integrated automation systems.
- Maintain detailed records of cultivation activities, environmental conditions, and crop performance for reporting and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and researchers, to integrate technological advancements into cultivation processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in high-tech horticulture, controlled environment agriculture (CEA), or commercial greenhouse operations.
- Strong understanding of plant physiology, nutrient management, pest and disease control, and environmental factors affecting plant growth.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting, with experience using relevant software or systems.
- Hands-on experience with hydroponic, aeroponic, or other soilless cultivation techniques is highly preferred.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot agricultural technology and automation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
