Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain large-scale Linux-based HPC clusters and associated infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot HPC software, libraries, and job schedulers (e.g., Slurm, PBS Pro).
  • Ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of all HPC systems, including networking and storage components.
  • Implement and manage system security protocols, backup and recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to researchers and users on HPC resource utilization and best practices.
  • Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and system upgrades to meet evolving research demands.
  • Automate routine system administration tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Collaborate with other system administrators, researchers, and vendors to resolve complex technical issues and implement new solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration, specifically with large-scale Linux environments.
  • Proven experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, including cluster management and job schedulers (e.g., Slurm, PBS Pro).
  • Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu) and shell scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Experience with parallel file systems (e.g., GPFS/Spectrum Scale, Lustre) and high-speed interconnects (e.g., InfiniBand).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, security best practices, and data center operations.
