Join Nextsphere Strategic Management Services as an Onsite Inpatient (IP) Medical Coder in Taguig City, Metro Manila. As an IP Medical Coder, you will translate complex clinical documentation into accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, support DRG assignments, and ensure coding aligns with CPT/HCPCS guidelines. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities
- Code inpatient records accurately using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes
- Review medical documentation for completeness and compliance with coding guidelines
- Assign DRGs and support appropriate severity-of-illness determinations
- Query physicians or clinical staff when documentation is unclear or missing
- Collaborate with the HIM team to improve documentation quality and coding efficiency
- Conduct coding audits and participate in ongoing process improvements
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and data privacy requirements
- Utilize EHR and coding software to complete timely and accurate coding
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or a related field
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent credential such as CCS, RHIA, or RHIT is preferred
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines and inpatient coding practices
- Familiarity with CPT/HCPCS coding for inpatient procedures is a plus
- Proficiency in EHR systems and coding software; excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with physicians and the HIM team
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient privacy
- Onsite availability in Taguig City and ability to manage multiple records efficiently
