As an Interior Quantity Surveyor, you will collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and contractors to prepare accurate cost estimates, manage tender processes, and control expenses throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will directly impact the profitability and success of each interior fit-out, making you an indispensable part of our team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for interior fit-out and renovation projects.
- Conduct site measurements and take-offs to ensure accurate quantification of materials and labour.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations, negotiate pricing, and recommend contract awards.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts in accordance with contract terms.
- Provide cost advice to design teams to optimise material selection and construction methods.
- Prepare regular cost reports and cash flow forecasts for senior management.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers to resolve commercial issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in interior design, fit-out, or construction.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction contracts (e.g., PAM, CIDB) and measurement standards (SMM).
- Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft) and MS Excel.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
