Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of backend services and APIs for the RBS Loans application.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices under the supervision of senior developers.
- Participate actively in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, retrospectives, and code reviews within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Troubleshoot and debug application issues in development, SIT, and UAT environments.
- Support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new features and system enhancements.
- Maintain and update critical technical documentation, including API specifications, system architecture diagrams, and deployment guides.
- Collaborate with business analysts to understand functional requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Perform data analysis, data masking, and data migration tasks related to loan portfolios and customer records.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong foundational knowledge in object-oriented programming (Java, C#, or Python).
- Hands-on experience or academic projects using backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Node.js, ASP.NET).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Basic understanding of RESTful API design and web service principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A self-motivated team player with a strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in a banking or financial technology setting is a distinct advantage.
