Responsibilities

  • Lead a comprehensive audit and analysis of IRRI's current compensation and benefits structure, including base pay, incentives, and allowances.
  • Benchmark salary and benefits packages against a peer group of international research organizations, academic institutions, and the local market using recognized salary surveys.
  • Design an evidence-based salary structure, complete with job grades, pay ranges, and a clear philosophy for progression.
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness and employee value proposition of existing benefits programs, making recommendations for enhancement or rationalization.
  • Ensure full compliance of all C&B practices with Philippine labor laws (e.g., DOLE regulations) and IRRI's global governance standards.
  • Develop, document, and present new compensation policies, procedures, and guidelines to senior leadership for approval.
  • Provide expert coaching and capacity building to the HROD team and line managers on compensation-related topics.
  • Create detailed financial models, cost projections, and executive summaries to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A Master's degree (MBA, MHRM) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Compensation and Benefits, with at least 5 years in a strategic advisory or consulting capacity within an international or multicultural organization.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Hay Job Evaluation, Mercer IPE) and market pricing techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data modeling and analysis, along with experience using HRIS systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; ability to explain complex concepts to non-HR stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in the non-profit, academic, international development, or agricultural research sectors is a distinct advantage.
