Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a deep technical understanding of cloud ecosystems? TRT is seeking a strategic IT Technology Category Manager to lead our cloud sourcing and vendor management initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be the bridge between our technical architecture teams and global cloud service providers, ensuring that our infrastructure investments are both cost-effective and highly scalable.
The successful candidate will own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for cloud-based services, software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscriptions, and related IT infrastructure. You will leverage data-driven insights to negotiate complex contracts, optimize cloud spend, and drive sustainable vendor partnerships that support our long-term digital transformation roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for cloud computing, storage, and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings.
- Lead high-stakes contract negotiations with top-tier cloud vendors to achieve significant cost savings and favorable service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Partner with IT stakeholders to forecast cloud consumption requirements and align procurement activities with business growth.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor lock-in, data sovereignty, and compliance standards.
- Monitor cloud consumption patterns to proactively identify cost-optimization opportunities and waste-reduction initiatives.
- Maintain a robust vendor performance management program, conducting regular reviews to ensure service quality and technical alignment.
- Manage the procurement lifecycle from RFI/RFP issuance to contract renewal and vendor exit strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT procurement, specifically within the cloud solutions or SaaS vertical.
- Demonstrable expertise in cloud pricing models (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and common commercial licensing structures.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex technical specifications and translate them into actionable procurement goals.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale enterprise vendor relationships and delivering quantifiable cost savings.
- Advanced proficiency in contract law, risk management, and supplier relationship management (SRM) frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and technical teams.
