Standard Chartered is seeking a high-impact Lead for Structured Trade Solutions in ASEAN, responsible for driving revenue, shaping bespoke client solutions, and establishing the bank as the regionās leader in trade finance. In this senior, client-facing role, you will unite deep product knowledge with strategic relationship management to design end-to-end structured trade solutions that meet the evolving needs of multinational corporations, traders, and mid-market businesses across ASEAN.
As the lead, you will partner with coverage teams, product specialists, risk, and operations to originate mandates, tailor structures such as letters of credit, pre-shipment and post-shipment financing, supply chain finance, and risk mitigation strategies. You will champion cross-sell opportunities, coordinate deal structuring, pricing, and documentation, and ensure a high standard of risk controls and compliance. You will also contribute to thought leadership, market intelligence, and the development of scalable solutions that improve client outcomes and drive revenue growth.
Key outcomes include expanding client adoption of structured trade products in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the broader ASEAN region, building a robust pipeline, and delivering differentiated client experiences through proactive advisory, timely execution, and seamless operations.

Responsibilities
- Lead revenue growth and deal origination for Structured Trade Solutions across ASEAN, focusing on client-led demand and pipeline development.
- Architect and tailor end-to-end structured trade solutionsāletters of credit, guarantees, pre- and post-shipment finance, and supply chain financeāaligned to client objectives and risk policies.
- Build and maintain senior client relationships with key corporates, traders, and financial sponsors; serve as a trusted advisor on trade finance strategy.
- Collaborate with Coverage, Product, Risk, and Operations to ensure seamless deal execution and post-sale support.
- Drive cross-sell opportunities within existing portfolios and develop market strategies for ASEAN expansion.
- Provide thought leadership, market insights, and represent the bank at industry forums; contribute to training and capability development.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and risk controls; monitor portfolio quality and risk metrics; manage issue resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (CFA/CA/CPA) preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in structured trade finance, trade finance, or corporate banking, with a proven track record in ASEAN markets.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and manage senior client relationships with multinationals and traders.
- Deep knowledge of trade finance products (LCs, guarantees, pre-/post-shipment finance, supply chain finance) and deal structuring.
- Strong analytical, pricing, and negotiation skills; ability to tailor complex solutions to client needs.
- Excellent communication, cross-cultural collaboration, and leadership capabilities; willingness to travel within ASEAN.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to operate in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
