Are you a detail-oriented legal professional looking to elevate your career within a dynamic compliance environment? We are seeking a Legal & Compliance Senior Executive to join our team in Selangor. In this role, you will be the backbone of our regulatory integrity, ensuring that all corporate agreements and operational processes strictly adhere to both internal policies and external legal mandates.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in mitigating corporate risk by conducting rigorous legal reviews, managing complex documentation, and staying ahead of evolving AML/KYC and data privacy landscapes. You will act as a key advisor to internal stakeholders, ensuring that our business objectives are met while maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial contracts to ensure alignment with company risk appetites.
- Oversee and enforce robust AML/KYC protocols for all business transactions and client onboarding processes.
- Ensure full compliance with Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) requirements and other relevant data privacy regulations.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities within operational workflows.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of regulatory filings and corporate compliance records.
- Provide expert guidance to management regarding legal developments and regulatory shifts affecting the industry.
- Collaborate with internal departments to implement effective legal training and compliance awareness programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent professional legal certification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or regulatory role within a corporate environment.
- In-depth knowledge of local regulatory requirements, including AML/KYC and data privacy laws.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex legal frameworks and apply them to business scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
- Experience in risk management or corporate governance is highly preferred.
