Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive key account strategies to achieve sales targets and profitability goals for assigned customers in the FMCG sector.
  • Manage the 5Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People) in-store execution to ensure brand visibility and optimal product placement.
  • Build and nurture strong, lasting relationships with key retailers, distributors, and internal stakeholders to drive business growth.
  • Negotiate trade terms, promotional agreements, and contracts to maximize mutual benefits and long-term partnership.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to align on brand strategies, stock availability, and financial objectives.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews for senior management and key clients.
  • Lead and mentor a team of account managers to enhance their skills and achieve high performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in key account management, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing profitability for major accounts.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of the retail landscape and consumer trends in Malaysia.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
