Hong Leong Bank, one of Malaysia's leading financial institutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Personal Financial Services division as a Manager in Business Operational Risk. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the operational risk framework within our retail banking operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and mitigating potential risks.

As a Manager in Business Operational Risk, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, monitor, and report operational risks. You will lead initiatives to strengthen internal controls, implement risk mitigation strategies, and foster a risk-aware culture across the organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding the bank's assets and reputation while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the operational risk management framework for Personal Financial Services.
  • Conduct risk assessments, including RCSA, KRI, and loss data analysis.
  • Monitor and report operational risk exposures to senior management and relevant committees.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify control gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and group policies.
  • Lead training and awareness programs to promote operational risk management practices.
  • Participate in new product and process reviews to assess operational risk implications.
  • Manage incident management and root cause analysis for operational risk events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operational risk management within banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in Malaysia (BNM guidelines, etc.).
  • Proven experience in risk assessment methodologies (RCSA, KRI, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are a plus.
