Responsibilities
- Conduct material testing and analysis for medical devices ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations
- Develop and implement robust material handling protocols to maintain sterility and integrity
- Collaborate with R&D teams to select and validate new materials for medical device applications
- Perform failure analysis on materials to troubleshoot production issues and improve processes
- Document material properties, test results, and handling procedures in compliance with quality systems
- Stay updated on emerging material technologies and regulatory changes in medical devices
- Train production staff on proper material handling techniques and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in medical device material handling or manufacturing
- Proficiency in material characterization techniques (SEM, FTIR, TGA, DSC)
- Knowledge of medical device regulations (ISO 13485, FDA QSR, MDR)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in material failure analysis
- Certification in quality management systems (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
- Excellent documentation skills for technical reports and regulatory submissions
