Join eData Services Philippines Inc., a leading provider of medical coding and billing solutions, as a Medical Coder/Biller in Taguig City, Metro Manila. In this full-time role, you will translate clinical documentation into precise codes used for billing and data analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines and payer requirements. You will contribute to clean claims, optimized revenue cycle performance, and high-quality patient care outcomes within a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
As a Medical Coder/Biller, you will collaborate with physicians and the billing team to review records, assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, and CPT codes, and ensure documentation supports coding decisions. You will perform coding validation, identify and resolve coding gaps, and support denial prevention through auditing and data quality control. You will maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and stay current with coding changes, payer updates, and industry best practices to ensure compliant submissions and timely reimbursements.
Responsibilities
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, and CPT codes to patient charts based on documentation.
- Review medical records for documentation completeness and coding accuracy; query providers when needed.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer policies, and privacy regulations to support clean claims.
- Enter coded data into billing and EHR systems with high data quality and timely updates.
- Support denial management by auditing claims, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, coders, and billing teams to resolve coding questions promptly.
- Stay updated on coding changes, payer requirements, and ongoing education to maintain competency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health information management, nursing, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional medical coding certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent preferred.
- Strong proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding systems; knowledge of HCPCS is a plus.
- Experience with electronic health records and coding/billing software; solid data-entry and documentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Philippine healthcare regulations and payer guidelines.
