Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate assignment of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes.
- Maintain high coding accuracy levels exceeding 95% while meeting daily production quotas.
- Stay current with evolving coding guidelines, payer policies, and healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify clinical documentation for precise code selection.
- Execute accurate and timely submission of claims to prevent billing denials.
- Participate in regular quality audits and feedback sessions to maintain coding integrity.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company data privacy standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional medical coding experience.
- Active certification (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) from an accredited organization (e.g., AAPC or AHIMA).
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and coding software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical notes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Stable home internet connection (at least 50 Mbps) for reliable remote work.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-productivity environment.
