Responsibilities
- Assist the Engineering Officers in the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the ship's main propulsion plant and auxiliary machinery.
- Conduct routine rounds of the engine room to monitor pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels of critical equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and filter replacements as per the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Participate in bunkering and sludge transfer operations while strictly adhering to MARPOL and environmental regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the engine room and workshop areas (Housekeeping).
- Respond promptly to engine room alarms and assist during emergency procedures and drills.
- Ensure all engine logs are accurately updated and reported to the duty engineer.
Qualifications
- Valid Seafarer's Identification and Record Book (SIRB) and current Philippine Passport.
- Completion of all mandatory STCW 2010 training certifications.
- Proven experience as a Motorman on Bulk, General Cargo, or Cement vessels.
- Solid understanding of marine diesel engines, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
- High level of physical fitness and ability to work in demanding maritime environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural crew.
