Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive technical site surveys and assess existing infrastructure for new deployments and upgrades.
- Develop detailed bill of hardware and cabling scope, including component selection and cost estimation.
- Perform staging, rack-and-stack, and base configuration of active network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Create low-level design (LLD) documents and implementation plans for network projects.
- Provide Level 3 technical support and troubleshooting for escalated network incidents, ensuring SLA compliance.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve hardware/software issues and coordinate RMA processes.
- Implement network security best practices, including ACLs, VPNs, and firewall policies, to protect client environments.
- Contribute to capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimisation of network resources.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years at a senior or Level 3 capacity.
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, STP).
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, and/or Juniper JunOS.
- Experience with network security technologies (firewalls, IPSec VPNs, NAC, 802.1X).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
