Job Description

Are you a highly skilled Network Engineer looking for your next challenge? Thatz International is seeking a dedicated and proactive NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Center team in East Region, Singapore. In this critical role, you will be the frontline defender of our network infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and reliability for our clients.

As a NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of all network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN links. You will utilize advanced monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) to track performance metrics, identify potential bottlenecks, and respond to alerts. When incidents occur, you will act swiftly to perform Level 1 and Level 2 troubleshooting, implement fixes, or escalate to senior engineering teams. Your ability to manage incidents effectively within strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) is paramount to success in this role.

Beyond break-fix tasks, you will actively contribute to the improvement of our network environment. This includes maintaining comprehensive network documentation, creating and updating knowledge base articles, managing change requests, and suggesting proactive improvements to prevent future service disruptions. You will also coordinate with external vendors and service providers to resolve complex circuit and hardware issues.

This is a contract position that requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, providing 24/7 coverage for our operations. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a passion for networking technology.

If you are ready to make a significant impact and advance your career within a supportive and fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply. This role offers a competitive monthly salary package ranging from $2,700 to $3,500.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and health across a multitude of platforms (routers, switches, firewalls, servers) to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for network incidents, performing thorough initial triage, diagnosis, and escalation to Level 3 or specialized teams as required.
  • Resolve Level 1 and Level 2 network faults effectively, utilizing advanced troubleshooting skills to minimize downtime and service impact.
  • Manage the lifecycle of incidents, service requests, and changes within the IT Service Management (ITSM) system, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
  • Consistently meet and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for incident response, resolution, and reporting.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, standard operating procedures, and post-incident reports.
  • Proactively identify patterns and recurring technical issues, recommending and implementing proactive solutions and improvements to the network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams (Engineering, Security, Server) and external vendors for advanced troubleshooting, maintenance windows, and project work.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of practical experience working within a Network Operations Center (NOC) or a high-level network support role.
  • Solid understanding of core networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, STP, and OSPF/BGP.
  • Proven experience with enterprise network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and/or Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure, 24/7 operational environment.
  • Possession of relevant professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or JNCIA is highly advantageous.
