Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, visual acuity tests, and ocular health assessments.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage various ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe and dispense appropriate corrective lenses, contact lenses, and low vision aids.
- Provide patient education on eye health, preventative care, and proper use of eyewear/contact lenses.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Optometry from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Optometrists & Opticians Board (OOB) of Singapore is mandatory.
- Proven clinical experience as an Optometrist; experience in diverse settings is a plus.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills related to ocular health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using optometric equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
