Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose refractive errors, ocular diseases, and vision-related conditions.
- Prescribe and fit spectacles, contact lenses, and low-vision aids.
- Provide personalized eye health counseling and preventive care advice.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Assist in clinic workflow, including appointment scheduling and follow-up coordination.
- Participate in continuing education, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Support community outreach programs and eye health awareness campaigns.
Qualifications
- Recognized degree in Optometry (BOptom or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Valid practicing license issued by the Malaysian Optical Council (MOC) or equivalent authority.
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience as an Optometrist (fresh graduates with strong internship background are welcome).
- Proficiency in performing refraction, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, and retinal screening.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient‑focused mindset.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic clinic management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
