Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and relatives, providing clear orientation to the Day Ward environment and facilities.
- Assist with basic patient care activities such as vital signs monitoring, mobility support, and personal hygiene under supervision.
- Answer inquiries, relay information to clinical staff, and ensure timely communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized ward area, adhering to infectionâcontrol protocols and safety standards.
- Support nurses and allied health professionals with preparation of equipment, stocking supplies, and documentation tasks.
- Participate in shift handovers, attend briefings, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum NâLevel or equivalent qualification; preferably with a healthcare or nursingârelated certificate.
- Previous experience in a patientâcare role, hospital setting, or aged care facility is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with diverse patient groups.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, infectionâcontrol practices, and patient safety principles.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems or willingness to learn.
